3-Tab Composition Shingles
The least expensive option is known as "3-Tab" shingles. This type of roofing has been refined over the years. It appears as a one layer product with a distinct pattern of tabs. This pattern is caused by vertical slots notched into the visible part of each shingle, splitting the lower half of the shingle into three tabs.
Laminates Composition Shingles
Laminates (also known as dimensionals) have become the most common choice in composition roofing. They are a more recent variant and are superior to the basic 3-Tab. Laminates have a second tabbed layer fused to a base shingle, effectively doubling the materials thickness. They have a strong resemblance to wood shake and are available in a wide range of colors.
Premium shingles are sometimes referred to as Grand Sequoia, Presidential, or Grand Canyons. They are a heavier Laminate and represent the absolute top of the line in Composition. They are thicker, heavier and physically larger than standard Laminates.
Modified bitumen is a roll roofing material employing multiple layers of asphalt and reinforcers around a core of plastic or rubber modifiers. It is designed for flat or low-pitched roofs and is installed with self adhering peel and stick, a cold adhesive or hot mopped into place using methods of asphalt application.
IB is a PVC membrane system for the commercial & residential industry designed for flat or low-sloped roofs and is installed by heat welding the membrane to a special coated perimeter drip edge, on all seems and flashings. IB membranes are heat-reflective and energy efficient. It is designed to stand up to chemicals, UV Rays and the elements of nature.
Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) single-ply roofing membranes are designed for flat or low-sloped roofs and is installed by heat welding the membrane to a special coated perimeter drip edge, on all seems and flashings. TPO is a heat-reflective and energy efficient roofing system. TPO single-ply roofing membranes provide exceptional resistance to ultraviolet, ozone and chemical exposure.
Standing Seam Roofs
Metal panel roofs are called “Standing Seam” because their prominent visual feature is the raised interlocking seam which joins one panel to the next. These roofs come with continuous panel lengths and have hidden fasteners. It is among the most durable and energy efficient roofing options for pitched roofs.
